The coffee (double espresso) served here on both recent visits was by far the worst coffee I've ver encountered, anywhere. A pity as had used the lace as a meeting point for work and socially. But not going back as the very basic - drinkable, or even vaguely acceptable espresso coffee isn't a certainty. Also, on neither occasion was there a hint of 'crema' on the surface which is often a giveaway. Maybe it was a one-off? At a guess (having drunk and prepared espresso 'n,000' times all over the world) the problem was in the preparation of the coffee rather than the beans, wrong temperature, too strong - double quantity of coffee used but single volume of liquid, compared with a single espresso. Gave feedback to the proprietor, to his credit he replied. The same, totally undrinkable which left an aftertaste that lingered for several hours. Took it back, they (begrudgingly) gave me a replacement. even just touching the liquid with the tip of the tongue was excruciating. Went in a few weeks ago, ordered a (my normal) double espresso - undrinkable. Superbly converted, great space and everything seemed excellent. It was a great addition to the High Street.
